I am overwhelmed with bittersweet (Ok...mostly bitter) feelings as I contemplate writing about my recent photo session with the amazing Calderwood family. It's a good thing that Ben is dancing around to "Rock That Body" by the Black Eyed Peas right now - I'm smiling instead of crying.
The Calderwoods are such a special family. They have been supportive fixtures in our lives for the past six years. Seriously, a lot of living goes on that amount of time, especially when you are raising children. Whether we were at the movies, a favorite restaurant, playing poker, vacationing without the kids, sitting on the soccer sidelines, running a theater camp, or unexpectedly waiting in a hospital emergency room, they have been there to laugh, cheer, and cry with us. Now just because Billy is an awesome pastor, they have moved on to bigger and better things in Burbank. You can see how in one breath I am so saddened by their move, but in the next happy for this wonderful new adventure for their family.
Additionally, I really have to credit Kristin for nudging me on when I was just beginning to think about taking pictures professionally. Many people in my life encouraged me, but the Calderwoods were the first family to hire me to take their pictures. It's a good thing they are all so photogenic because they made my first family sitting look sensational!
Sigh...Ben and his music have moved out of the room, and I am getting more melancholy by the minute, so I am going to wrap this up quick. Great to take pictures of you all again, and I know we will see each other soon! Love you!
